A Letter from the Past
If, by the will of Heaven, this letter has found its way into your hands, it means that my thoughts have crossed both space and time.
Allow me to introduce myself: I am Franz Xaver Wolfgang Mozart. Fate gave me a life between two worlds dear to my heart—Vienna, where I was born, and Lemberg, also known as Lviv. Here, I am seeking my own path in music, striving to be worthy of my father’s name. The more deeply I come to know Ukrainian culture, the more clearly I sense the harmony between our melodies, traditions, and human destinies.
Sometimes, listening to the silence between notes, I reflect on time. What will come next? Does Ukrainian music still resound in Vienna? Do people remember those who created it? What new stories will bring Ukraine and Vienna together?
I invite you to listen for the echoes of these connections. I will guide you along a route through the past, where every encounter left its mark. And you will reveal to me what the passage of time has brought us. Together, let us trace how old melodies find new expression, adding to the score of Musical Vienna in Ukraine.
With sincere regards,
Franz Xaver Mozart
