A Letter from the Past
If, by the will of Heaven, this letter has found its way into your hands, it means that my thoughts have traversed space and time.
Allow me to introduce myself: I am Franz Xaver Wolfgang Mozart. Fate gave me a life between two worlds dear to my heart—Vienna, where I was born, and Lemberg, also known as Lviv. Here I seek my own path in music, striving to live up to my father’s name. The more deeply I discover Ukrainian culture, the more clearly I sense the harmony of our melodies, traditions, and human destinies.
Sometimes, listening to the silence between the notes, I reflect on time. What will come next? Does Ukrainian music still resound in Vienna? Do people there remember those who created it? What new stories will unite Ukraine and Vienna?
I invite you to listen for the echoes of these connections. I will guide you along a route through the past, where every encounter has left its mark. And you will reveal to me what the passage of time has brought us. Together, let us trace how old melodies find new expression, adding to the score of Musical Ukrainian Vienna.
With sincere respect,
Franz Xaver Mozart
